To announce a leave of absence, simply use the following format to make it easier to keep track of who is on a leave of absence and for how long:

If you are taking a LEAVE OF ABSENCE, which covers up to 3 weeks of inactivity, please place [LOA] before the rest of your topic title. In the main body of the post, add the date the leave of absence will begin, the date of when it will end, and whatever additional information (nature of absence, etc.) you feel you should add. If you hold an Officer, Lieutenant, or similar position, TF77 reserves the right for a temporary replacement.

If you are taking an EXTENDED LEAVE OF ABSENCE, which covers up to 2 months (60 days) of inactivity, please place [ELOA] before the rest of your topic title. In the main body of the post, add the date the leave of absence will begin, the date of when it will end, and whatever additional information (nature of the absence, etc.) you feel you should add. If you hold an Officer position, TF77 reserves the right for a temporary replacement. If you hold a Lieutenant or similar position, TF77 reserves the right for a permanent replacement.

If you are taking a MATERNAL / PATERNAL LEAVE, which covers up to 1 calendar year of inactivity, please place [MPL] before the rest of your topic title. In the main body of the post, add the date the leave of absence will begin, and whatever additional information (nature of absence, etc.) you feel you should add. TF77 reserves the right to replace an Officer position with a fixed replacement that is temporary, but will only expire after an exact amount of time, regardless of the original Officer's date of return, and reserves the right to permanently replace a Lieutenant or similar position.

If you are RETIRING, which covers an indefinite amount of inactivity, please place [R] before the rest of your topic title. In the main body of the post, add the date you will retire, and whatever additional information (nature of retiring, etc.) you feel you should add. TF77 reserves the right to permanently replace any position.

If you are currently in the middle of an announced leave of absence, you can request an EXTENSION, which covers up to an additional 2 weeks of inactivity on top of your remaining leave of absence time. In this case, please add [EXT] before the rest of your topic title. In the main body of the post, add the date your current leave of absence began, the date it would've ended, and the date it will end with the extension. You can only request a leave of absence extension after half of your leave of absence has expired.
